Schumi gets on a motorbike with Schuberth
Brunswick, 31st March 2008 - Schuberth and Michael Schumacher will continue their long-standing cooperation in the future: During his excursions into the world of motorbike sports the most successful Formula 1 world champion of all times trusts in a Schuberth product, the specially developed "Schuberth RACEâ. As head tester he is going to be involved in the development of the new Schuberth motorcycle helmets going forward.
"After seven years together in Formula 1 a cooperation with Schuberth is a logical continuation for meâ, Michael Schumacher comments on his new role in the company, "nevertheless the deciding factor is not the successful past but the products' sustainability.â
The high-tech manufactured Schuberth RACE with its just under 900 grams weighs significantly less than a Formula 1 helmet, has integrated air conditioning and a particularly large field of vision. The prototype was developed and built within four weeks in day and night work. "Together with Michael Schumacher our engineers have done a fantastic job", says Oliver Schimpf, Technical Director at Schuberth GmbH. Then the first test in Barcelona followed. "During the test Michael worked precisely like we have seen in Formula 1. He made statements which allowed us to progress immensely", says Schimpf. The design was also the famous career changer's idea: Black and glossy on a matt black background.
Marcel Lejeune, Managing Director of Schubert GmbH: "We are delighted to be able to continue the collaboration with Michael Schumacher after seven successful years and four world championships together. After all he is the world's most perfect test driver, both on four and on two wheels.â It was agreed that Michael Schumacher would continue to contribute all of his experience to the Schuberth product development.
